Hi all, its been a while, very busy, only just got the internet on, Thanks Telstra....thats another story/blogg...
We got the keys early July, after the mess up with the bathroom fittings sorted, lost 3 weeks over that.
We still have a couple of things they need fixing and will be fixed on the 13 week inspection....they say, see how we go.

Dramas....

Last week we met up with out site supervisor to check on the progress.
To our shock and horror the wrong basins, taps, toilets & a shower niche is missing in the main bathroom...
Site manager explains that he only put in whats on the paper work and I would have to chase it up
with admin/head office.
I promptly go home and check through our "Final Variation" the "Contract" and "the 123 promo brocher" which ALL say I should have the other basins, taps, toilets & a shower niche in the main bathroom...the ones I chose!
However a error with admins paperwork has resulted in all the above being put in wrong!
It took a further week and a half for admin to raise a "building variation"....after myself phoning the manager of EB homes in absolute annoyance at certain admin staff.
Thankfully he was able to get the building variance risen in less then 5 hrs, not 9 days!!!
They couldnt get the shower niche in the main bathroom, so I missed out on that as to re open the whole shower up, break the water sealing it would have been more hassle/ worry down the track then its worth! We got a credit back on it.
Now we are put back 2 weeks, while the toilets get swapped around, the bathroom bench tops and basins are replaced, and all the tap wear! Such a hassle, the tiler, the shower screen guy, the plumber and the painter all called back in! For a simple admin error. Not happy. I will be happy if it all takes no more then 2 weeks.

Main bathroom shower, wrong taps, however right shower rose...
Bathroom taps are supposed to be a spout and a flick mixer
Basin is supposed to be the risen basins, and a flick mixer tap

Tiles

Tiles are in now, I forgot what my bathroom tiles forgot like, however I have now fallen in love with them all over again!
We went with "Matt" for the floor tiles, as we have had gloss in floorboards before and they drove me MAD keeping them clean!

                                Ensuite
                              Ensuite tiles
 Ensuite shower niche

Tiles - without the grout yet
             splashback tiles - without grout
            New Cairo cesar stone benchtops

Almost there......

Drove past a few weeks ago and sqeeled with joy with the sight of our garage door finally in!
I love the garage door, it would have to be one of my fave things...along with the kitchen :)
The internals are coming along well, we are almost at completion!

Lights 2nd

Well.....like I said before...I love lights!
We have finally selected and purchased our lights, waiting for Eden Brae to request them!

Our best find was the Cree LED 5x3w with 120deg radius in warm white. The shops are charging $130 each, we got them for $54 each!! Thats right....$54 each, online, delivered, fantastic!
Our whole house is LED downlights, trying to have a "Green" home ;)

We also got domes that go over the LED fitting, its to stop fires happening when the lights heat up and burn the insulation! its happened a few times with the old hallogen ones, saftey first!

My next good find was the pendant lighst for the kitchen, a trip down to IKEA and for $39ea I got 3 FOTO pendant lights....not $120 + each at some lighting shops

Another score was the "Fanaway Evo 2 endure" fans, we got 50% off 3 fans, they are the fans with the clear blades and they fold away when your not using them, they also have a T5 light, which is energy efficent and long lasting

The rest of the lights for outside we got 20% off, that was for a few up down sensor lights at the front of the garage, a spot light and so on.
